Some of the services available at the library
Computer Use
Our public access computers offer Internet access and Microsoft office applications. Five computers are available downstairs; simply sign-up at the circulation desk. Librarians are available to assist you with browsing the Internet, and in the use of Microsoft Office software.
Database Research Services

Fax Machine Use
Faxes can be sent for $1.00 per page.
Photocopying
We have a black and white photocopier available for use at $.10 per page. Our staff will be happy to help you.
Reserving Items for Interlibrary Loan
If you don’t find the item you want in our catalog, you may order it from another library. This can be done online from any computer, at home or from the library. On this website, look for the C/WMars Catalog Search box, and search either the Taft Public Library catalog or the “all libraries” catalog. Requested materials can be delivered to any library in the C/WMars network.
Renewing a book, CD, or DVD
You may renew circulating materials, providing that no one else is waiting for them. Renew yourself online or call us to renew for you. Use the CWMars Catalog Search box on this site to log in to your account. Please note that beginning July 2019 all items eligible for renewal will be renewed one time automatically. You should receive an email indicating if the item was renewed.
Videos
The library has a wide variety of videos on DVD’s. Videos can be borrowed for one week. Search the online catalog for suggestions.
Periodicals
We have a wide range of magazines and local newspapers available to our patrons. Periodicals can be borrowed for one week.

Reference Services
Contact us with your questions or research needs. The Taft Library has a sizeable collection of Genealogy materials. Click here for more information and ask a librarian for assistance.
Meeting Space
Please contact a librarian to inquire about reserving space for your small meeting. Although everyone is welcome in a public library, our meeting space is very limited.
Tax Forms
Massachusett state tax forms both resident and non-resident are available in the library. Unfortunately Federal tax forms are not available you may request them from www.irs.gov or phone 1-800-829-3676 for forms by mail.
Wireless Internet Service
The library offers free wireless connection to the Internet.
Obtaining a Library Card
All Mendon residents can get a library card free of charge. Visit the library and present a photo ID and proof of residency. A librarian will issue a card ready for immediate use.
Using Your Library Card Online
Once you have visited the library and obtained a library card, you can begin using the library’s online services. You will then be able to request, renew, and search for books, videos, audiobooks and eBooks anywhere you have Internet access!
Here’s how to get started:
- Click here to visit the C/W Mars login page.
- On the reverse side of your library card, you’ll find a barcode and your account number. Enter the account number in the Username field.
- In the PIN / Password field, enter the temporary PIN provided when you received your new card. Call the library for assistance if you don’t have the temporary PIN number.
- Click the Login button.
- You will be prompted to choose your own PIN / Password for subsequent use. Make note of your choice.
- For your convenience, Catalog Search and Account Login links are available right on the Taft Library home page.
