Fire Inspections & Fees

The Mendon Fire Department enforces Massachusetts state fire, electrical and installation codes. We also issue licenses, permits and provide inspections for things like: Smoke/CO detectors, boilers, pressure vessels, above-ground storage tanks, blasting, crowd managers, fireworks and special effects, fire extinguishers, and marine fueling.

  • Two Family Smoke & CO Inspection - $100
  • Three Family Smoke & CO Inspection - $150
  • Oil Burner Permit - $25
  • Tank Removal Permit - $25
  • Tank Install Permit - $25
  • Propane Tank Permit - $25

Smoke & CO Alarm Inspections

Every home should have working smoke and CO alarms. You must have a certificate of compliance that shows your smoke and CO alarms meet certain standards when you sell or transfer a home.
