Friends of the Taft Public Library Book Sale

The Friends of the Taft Public Library will hold their bi-annual Book Sale on Saturday, June 9th from 9am-1pm.  They are currently accepting donations of gently used books, DVDs and CDs (no magazines, please) which can be dropped off at the lower level of the library through June 2nd. All adult hardcovers will be $1.00, adult paperbacks fifty cents, and children’s books a quarter the day of the sale or purchase a special Taft Public Library canvas tote bag and fill it for $15.  If you purchased a canvas tote previously, you can fill that for $10.  The book sale will be held outside on the 9th or, in the event of inclement weather, in the downstairs meeting room in the library.  We hope to see you there!  If you have further questions, please check the Friends of the Taft Public Library Facebook page or contact the library at 508-473-3259.

Teen Volunteers Meeting

A notice for teens ages 12 and up: We need your help! Are you looking for volunteer hours?  Need something to keep you busy this summer?  Want to have fun and help your community all at the same time?  Join us on Thursday, June 7th at 6:45pm upstairs in the library to learn about volunteering at the Taft Public Library this summer.  Please bring your summer schedule with you to check when you are able to volunteer.  We’re looking for assistance with Summer Reading events, library-related tasks and more.  If you would like to help out but can’t make the meeting, feel free to stop at the upstairs desk in the library to fill out an application.

On Display this Month

On display in the downstairs display case this month: photos, letters, books, and chronologies exploring Mendon’s Rural Roots.  Displays in the display cases are rotated monthly.  While they often include items from the library’s Genealogy collection and highlight the history of the town or the Taft Library, the library also welcomes collections from Mendon residents and organizations.  If you have a collection, craftwork, or artwork you’d like to display, please contact us at 508-473-3259 or email Andrew at librarydirector@mendonma.gov.

Take Our Survey!

The Taft Public Library is looking for your feedback! Please take a moment to fill out the library’s survey on hours and services.  We’re interested in better understanding the needs of our patrons and your input is essential!  Whether you are a frequent visitor or visit us only occasionally, we want to hear from you.  It should only take a few minutes of your time and it will be a great help to us as we look to shift or increase our hours on weekdays and Saturdays in the future.  You can access the survey by the following link (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/VP7SRQN) or visit our homepage at www.taftpubliclibrary.org and click on the link there. Thank you!
