Mission Statement 

The Treasurer/Collector’s Office is committed to providing taxpayers and town employees with professional, courteous customer service. We will respond to all inquiries in a timely manner and strive to treat all taxpayers equitably while taking all steps allowable by law to collect past-due accounts.

The Treasurer/Collector’s Office is responsible for the efficient and timely billing and collection of all monies due to the Town, including:

• Real Estate Tax
• Motor Vehicle Excise Tax
• Personal Property Tax
• Water/Trash Bills

Our payment portal is easy to use and is always open! Payments must be received by the close of business to be credited for that day.

Important Information 

• Billing Schedule: Bills are sent quarterly and are payable within 30 days of the due date indicated on the bill. Late payments will incur interest and late charges in accordance with Massachusetts General Law.

• Payment Requirements: Payments must be received in the Collector’s Office by the due date. Postmarks are not accepted as proof of timely payment.

• Drop Box: Non-cash payments can be dropped off anytime in the Town’s drop box, located on the Police Station side of Town Hall. The drop box is opened daily when our office is open.

• Checks: Please make checks payable to Town of Mendon and include the remittance portion of the bill to ensure proper credit. If you would like a receipt, include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your payment.

• Post-Dated Checks: Please do not post-date checks. Checks are deposited daily. Returned checks will incur a $25.00 fee, plus applicable interest.

• Abatements: To apply for a Real Estate or Motor Vehicle Excise abatement, please email the Town Assessor

• Excise or Parking Ticket Issues: If you are unable to renew due to motor excise or parking tickets, please contact:
